EURODOC 2027: the call for projects is now open

EURODOC is an intensive and selective training programme in creative documentary production.

The annual programme is designed for mid-career documentary producers from around the world, including Ukraine, and runs from March to October 2027, combining three residential sessions, online activities and individual mentoring.

The 2027 programme consists of three one-week residential sessions:
7-13 March 2027 – Reykjavík, Iceland: Development
6-12 June 2027 – Vilnius, Lithuania: Coproduction, Financing & Packaging
3-9 October 2027 – Budapest, Hungary: Meetings with Decision-Makers

The programme includes group work, masterclasses, case studies, expert consultations and online activities between sessions. Participants receive a EURODOC graduation certificate upon completion.

Who can apply?

– Producers with a project: producers with several years of professional experience who have already produced at least one feature-length documentary and are currently developing a documentary project.
– Producers seeking career development: a limited number of places are available for producers applying without a project, but with a company project or slate.
– Observers: professionals from documentary film funds, TV channels, institutions and other organisations involved in documentary production.

Up to 40 participants are selected each year.

What kind of projects?

EURODOC considers all types of creative documentaries, including feature-length films and documentary series. Projects can be at an early or advanced development stage and must have strong international potential and a director already attached.

The project must not be fully financed by October 2027 and must include some visual material at the time of application.

How much does it cost ? 

The average total cost is:
7 000 € for participants based in countries participating in Creative Europe MEDIA;
5 500 for participants based outside Europe or in MEDIA low production capacity countries.

This includes tuition fees and accommodation/residential costs for the three sessions. Travel costs are not included. EURODOC offers scholarships to more than one third of participants, covering part or all of the tuition and/or accommodation costs depending on individual circumstances.

The registration deadline is on November 23th, 2026 at midnight (Central European Time)

The selection announcement will be made on December 21st, 2026.
