SYNOPSIS
2015. Vlad, a full-hearted and kind 22-year-old Ukrainian, volunteers to fight the Russians who invaded the Eastern regions. While losing friends at battle, he matures and in the middle of the chaos, even falls in love for the first time with an impetuous and committed young woman, Nika (18). But Nika, manipulated and radicalized, convinces Vlad to commit an attack in Kyiv. Vlad will seize his obliviousness only too late.

THE DIRECTOR
Yuliia Hontaruk was born on 6 March 1987 in Kyiv. From 2007 to 2012, she studied directing at the Karpenko-Kary Kyiv National University of Theatre, Cinema and Television, class of Mikhail Pavlov.
2013 – Member of the National Union of Cinematographers of Ukraine.
2013 – co-founder of the creative association Babylon`13, produced and directed 35 documentary short films.
2015 – nominated for the Shevchenko Prize in Cinematography.
2016 – Member of the Ukrainian Film Academy.
2020 – co-founder of the Ukrainian Directors Guild.
2023 – winner of the Golden Dziga National Film Award in the category “Best Documentary Short Film” with the film “Fortress Mariupol. The Last Day at Azovstal”.
