SYNOPSIS
Against the backdrop of Russia’s invasion, a contemporary artist Roman, who has issues with alcohol, tries to find understanding with his loved ones: his parents, wife, and lover. Caught up in a cycle of recurring events and circumstances, Roman turns to his past in order not to lose himself in the present.

THE DIRECTOR
(Kyiv, Ukraine, 1989) studied film and TV directing at Kyiv National Karpenko-Kary Theatre, and graduated in 2016. He’s a co-founder of Contemporary Ukrainian Cinema, a collective of young independent filmmakers. He has directed several short films screened at numerous film festivals such as Odesa, Kyiv Molodist, Fribourg and Clermont-Ferrand, POFF Shorts and etc. In recent years, he has been studying VHS archives of Ukraine in the 1990s, from which he used footage for his feature debut, La Palisiada, which premiered at Rotterdam in 2023. La Palisiada was nominated as Discovery Prix FIPRESCI at the EFA 2023. Since 2024 Philip is a member of the EFA. Also Philip is working as editor and script-consultant. He is working on his second feature film, after finishing La Palisiada in 2023.
