SYNOPSIS
A delicate, hypnotic journey through the video archive of a skater from the Ukrainian Ballet on Ice Ensemble who toured the West in the 80s and 90s. Through these cassette recordings, his daughter recreates an extraordinary story of growing up: her own, her family’s and her society’s.

THE DIRECTOR
Maria Stoianova is a Kyiv-based independent filmmaker. After finishing her education with an MA in Cultural Studies (Kyiv) and an MA in Sociology and Social Anthropology (Budapest), she worked in different positions within the Ukrainian film industry. She has directed and edited several short documentaries, among which is the award-winning film Ma (2017), which was screened at Ji.hlava IDFF, Open City Documentary Festival, Astra FF, and many others. She has finished her studies at the Sergey Bukovsky Film Program and is currently working on her first feature-length documentary project.
