SYNOPSIS
Ukraine, three years post-war. A veteran turned coach safeguards his players against the potential perils of AI implants. His goal: lead his team to Paralympic victory. But when his son’s health deteriorates, he’s faced with the challenging task of addressing the consequences and redefining his purpose within a rapidly changing world.

THE DIRECTOR
In 2013, Ruslan Batytskyi graduated from Kyiv National Karpenko-Karyy University of Theatre, Cinema and Television, with a bachelor of arts in Cinema and TV Directing. In 2012, his short film Ukrainian lessons won the FIPRESCI prize for the best Ukrainian film at Odesa IFF. He participated in several labs and workshops, such as the Ukrainian-Polish lab “Young filmmakers” in 2017, IDFA Editors Lab in 2018 and Sundance Collab Screenwriting. In collaboration with media and NGOs, he directed several documentary series, the latest one, Ukraine on the brink, with the Kyiv Post. His first feature documentary, A Rising Fury, was part of the official selection in Tribeca IFF. In 2023, he was selected to participate in the Berlinale Talents program of the 73rd Berlinale : during this edition, his feature debut The Blindsight was awarded the Eurimages special award at the co-production market.
