SYNOPSIS
To the Victory! is a dystopian story about the difficult post-war future of Ukraine. The main character is the film director, deprived of the possibility to engage in a profession that fulfilled his life. His wife and daughter have been living in Vienna for three years and see no point in returning home, given the difficult economic situation in the country.

Valentyn Vasyanovych was born in 1971, and is a Ukrainian director, writer, and producer. He was director of photography at the Kyiv State Institute of Theatrical Art (1990-1995), where he became director of documentaries (1995-2000), before working at the Andrzej Wajda Master School of Film Directing (2006-2007). He produced his first feature film, The Tribe directed by Myroslav Slaboshpytskiy, in 2014, winning the Critics Week Grand Prize at Cannes. He then wrote, directed and produced Black Level in 2017, which won the Grand Prix of Fribourg International Film Festival, followed by Atlantis in 2019, that was granted the Venice Horizons Best Film Award. His last feature film to date, entitled Reflection, was selected for the main competition of the Venice International Film Festival 2021.
