SYNOPSIS
Over the city of Zaporizhzhia there is a thick curtain of yellow smoke, the air is critically polluted with dangerous emissions from industrial plants. The front line is 45 kilometers away. All resources of the state are thrown into military defense, the environment is in decline. Zaporizhzhia is attacked daily by the Russian army with aerial bombs, ballistic missiles, and drones. Air raid sirens sound in the city almost around the clock. Residents in the frontline city of Zaporizhzhia are trying to live under constant shelling and catastrophically polluted air, finding motivation for their lives.

THE DIRECTOR
Maryna Nazarenko is a 34 year old Ukrainian writer and director from Kyiv. She studied film and television at the Kyiv National University of Culture and Arts, from which she graduated in 2014 with a master’s degree in film and television directing. She went on to direct TV programs for various TV channels and production companies (Starlight Media, 1+1 Media, Activision). She has also directed two documentaries, Pianist Pavlik in 2013 and Beauty is a terrible force in 2014
